in-vitro anti-oxidant and anti-platelet activity of Manilkara zapota (L.) P Royen latex

Abstract
In the present study latex of Manilkara zapota (L.) P.Royen is evaluated for anti-oxidant and anti-platelet activities. In DPPH method the latex sample (300 µg) exhibited 90% of radical scavenging activity with IC50 value of 96 µg. In TAA and FRAP assay methods showed 60 ± 2.2 and 83 ± 2.6 GAE values at 300 µg, respectively. The latex sample showed a maximum platelet aggregation inhibition of 86% at the concentration of 12 µg. Further, phytochemical analysis of latex sample by GC-MS study revealed 42 phytocompounds.
