Abstract
The threat of aflatoxin contamination in food commodities and its association with health risks in both animals and humans. In the present investigation seventeen microflora were isolated from different ground nut filed area as Aspergillus flavus, A. terreus, A. niger, A. octraceus, A. spinulorsus, A. fumigutus, Trichoderma sp, Fusarium solani, Curvuloria geniculata, Curvuloria lunata, Fusarium moniliforme, Penicillium granulatum, Cephalosporium sp., F. oxysporium, Helminthosporium oryae, Memnomilla sp. and Penicillium notatum. They performed antagonistic activity of soil microflora against Aspergillus flavus. Trichoderma viride has more suppression results recorded compare other soil fungi. And also studied the antifungal activity of plant extracts against A. flavus. The highest zone of inhibition recorded in 100µl concentration of Acalypha indica, Amaranthus viride, Boerhavia diffusa and Tephrosia purpurea leaves methanolic extract. These plant extract act as a good source of antifungal activity.
