Abstract
Vedic agriculture represents a sustainable and ecologically balanced
system rooted in harmony with nature. This study examines its principles and
relevance in modern agronomy with reference to sustainable food security.
Traditional practices such as organic manuring, crop diversification,
indigenous seed use, water conservation, and natural pest management contribute
to soil fertility, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. In contrast,
modern agriculture faces challenges like climate change, soil degradation,
water scarcity, and pollution. The integration of traditional knowledge with
modern scientific advancements, including precision farming, biotechnology, and
integrated management practices, can enhance productivity while ensuring
sustainability. Such an approach promotes sustainable agroecosystems capable of
meeting future food demands. The study highlights that combining Vedic
agricultural wisdom with contemporary techniques offers a practical solution
for achieving long-term food security and environmental conservation.
